Including this year's allocations, the grant has put over $46,000 in STEM materials in local classrooms since its launch.

For the past four years, the EDC has collaborated with local entrepreneur and STEM champion Randy Schilling and other sponsors to award teachers in St. Charles County with grants of up to $1,000 to fund STEM-related classroom materials.

Launched in 2021 as an EDC public policy initiative, the Randy Schilling STEM Educators Grant is open to K-12 teachers at public and private schools in St. Charles County. This year, the grant awarded a record $20,000 in funding to local teachers, up from $10,000 awarded in previous years.

This remarkable increase was made possible by a generous $12,500 contribution from Randy Schilling and his wife Sibby, alongside donations from General Motors, Jim and Randie Eberlin, and Partners for Community Progress.

"Sibby and I are excited to pledge our continued support of educators and students by providing essential funding for STEM classroom materials," Schilling remarked. "We believe that through sustained investment in STEM grants, we are not only enhancing educational opportunities but also laying the foundation for a brighter, more innovative future for all of St. Charles County."
