Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Route 94/364/Muegge Road Project Wednesday, June 21

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Route 94/364/Muegge Road Project Wednesday, June 21

ST. CHARLES COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, June 21 at 10 a.m. to help celebrate the completion of the Route 94/364/Muegge Road Improvement Project.

The ceremony is open to the public and will take place at the northern end of the new Muegge Road bridge over Route 94. Construction crews will guide the public and guests to enter the ceremony from just south of Old Route 94 and can park at the Covenant of Grace Church parking lot located at 1111 Muegge Road, St. Charles, MO 63303.

The ceremony will feature speakers including St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann, the City of St. Charles Mayor Dan Borgmeyer, MoDOT representatives and other honored guests.

MoDOT’s contractor expects to open the interchange by the afternoon commute on Thursday, June 22.

This project cost $20 million dollars to construct. It features a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) with a signal at the north end of the existing bridge over Route 94. To add more ramp connections, the bridge over Route 94 was widened to the east to include another southbound lane. The signal at Portwest Drive was removed, and additional pavement was added to Route 94 to allow three lanes in each direction between I-70 and the 94/364/Muegge Interchange. The resulting interchange will provide direct access for all traffic traveling to and from Muegge Road by adding the following movements not originally provided for when Page Avenue originally opened in 2003.

  • east and westbound Route 94 to northbound Muegge Road;
  • southbound Muegge Road to east and westbound Route 94

This is a cost-share project with St. Charles County, the City of St. Charles and MoDOT.
