About
St. Charles County Ambulance District [SCCAD] is committed to providing extraordinary mobile healthcare to our community, and seeks to develop and promote best practices to integrated, community healthcare that exceed expectations. SCCAD provides emergency and non-emergency care and transport for all 592 square miles of St. Charles County, serving a population of more than 400,000 residents.
In addition to providing care during emergency situations, the District partners with numerous organizations within the community to deliver value-added service for residents. These initiatives include a robust Mobile Integrated Health program, the Substance Use Recovery Response Team, a behavioral health Telemedicine program, and numerous community safety programs available at little or no cost. In 2021, SCCAD will be one of three EMS agencies in Missouri to launch Emergency Triage, Treatment & Transport [ET3] - a five year pilot developed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service aimed at reducing healthcare costs by providing patients with additional options such as transport to alternative destination, telemedicine encounters, and treatment on-scene.
Through the years, the District has been recognized with numerous local, state and national awards for its cutting-edge approach to mobile healthcare. Among other honors, SCCAD received the American Ambulance Association's Community Impact Program of the Year award in 2017, and is a seven-time EMS Service of the Year award winner from the Missouri Emergency Medical Services Association.
