CenterPointe Hospital Opens Two Residential Treatment Programs
CenterPointe Hospital welcomed guests to visit their two residential treatment programs for substance use – The Changing Pointe Residential Program for Adults & The Changing Pointe Residential Program for Adolescents.
A morning of events also included a lecture on Didactic Discourse on Drugs by Chad Sobora, Co-founder and Executive Director of the Missouri Network for Opiate Reform & Recovery, and a ribbon cutting for The Changing Pointe Residential Program for Adolescents by the St. Charles Regional Chamber.
CenterPointe has been a leader in providing residential substance use treatment for adults for nearly 20 years, and in more recent months has added a new residential substance use treatment program for adolescents which can serve adolescents from across the U.S.
Recent U.S. statistical reports indicate 57.2 million people ages 12+ used illicit drugs in the past year, with 70,630 overdose deaths. Of 20.4 million people diagnosed with a substance use disorder, only 23.5% received treatment. Missouri’s total drug-overdose mortality rate was 23.6 lives lost per 100,000 people, or 1,371 deaths. This was higher than the national average of 19.8.
The Changing Pointe Programs provide residential substance use treatment for up to six months, depending on each individual’s needs, and can be part of a full continuum of substance use treatment including detoxification, intensive outpatient, medication-assisted treatment, dual disorder treatment for substance use & mental health issues, and acute psychiatric stabilization, as needed.
“CenterPointe’s residential treatment programs focus on providing the tools needed to prevent drug relapse and prepares individuals to meet the challenges of a newly sober life. Residential treatment offers the best environment to achieve these goals,” stated Dion Buffalow, Director of Residential Services.
